Our Story
Windswept Safaris was born out of a shared passion for Kenya’s Maasai Mara and rich cultural heritage.
Founded by Shelly, an American globetrotter, and Samuel (O.D.), a proud Maasai warrior, our mission is to offer unique and immersive safari experiences that go beyond the ordinary.We aim to create journeys that are visually stunning, culturally enriching, and awe-inspiring providing our guests with memories that last a lifetime.

Shelly
Shelly is an avid traveler from the U.S. with a degree in Global Studies (history, cultures, and religions of the world). She has worked for Delta Airlines and the public school system. Her travels have taken her to over 28 countries including India, Palestine, Georgia, the UK, New Zealand, Ukraine, and Japan. Her love for animals and photography, combined with her deep connection to the Maasai Mara, makes her an exceptional guide eager to share this magical place with others.
Samuel (O.D.)
O.D. is a Kenyan Maasai Warrior and Elder with over 10 years of experience as a tour guide. He embodies the traditions and knowledge of the Maasai tribe, which still practices many ancient customs. O.D. loves photography, laughter, and showing adventurers around his homeland. His favorite pastime is exploring the Maasai Mara, and being on his family land in the mountains.
